In the Youth Textile Design class, students ages 10-18, explore and experiment with different aspects of fiber arts. Depending on the session, students will learn in depth techniques about weaving, embroidery, printing, dyeing, functional art and more.
Each time a new topic is presented, the class learns about the technique and then each student has the opportunity to explore the medium in an individual project. Students have an opportunity to learn about basket/bag weaving, jewelry/adornment, garment construction and quilting.
Textile is a four week program. The sessions are not sequential or cumulative, allowing for students to join at any time. Please contact the Art School to learn about the current topic is being taught.
